Go Ahead. Laugh at them. After all, their lyrics are totally wacked--"Say it, don't spray
it. I want the news, not the weather." Whatever, right? And they do look a little, off, 'N
Sync probably wouldn't wear pants with quite as much shine. And we doubt that
Backstreet Boys would go in for identical crushed velvet shirts. The guys in 2gether
look like they're trying way too hard to be cool. But that's just the thing. You're
supposed to get a laugh (and maybe a crush!) on this quirky fivesome.
We have MTV to thank for getting it 2gether. It all started with a made-for-MTV-movie
parodying the culture of boy bands. The movie hit home with teens and the soundtrack
soared up the charts. 2gether was the joke that the music world took very seriously.
And we're not surprised. After all, they did bring in BSB producer Viet Renn to work on
the album. And the director/writer of the 2gether movie was none other than Nigel Dick,
who's created vidoes for everyone from 'N Sync to Westlife. When it comes down to it,
these five guys are all kinds of cute! Just ask MTV. They decided to give 2gether a
weekly TV show! Look out for it in August.
So who are 2gether? You have "the shy one," played by blue-eyed sweetie pie Noah
Bastian. Next up is "the older brother" who is also the easiest one to spot. He's Kevin
Farley, brother of the late comic genius Chris Farley. Of course, in any boy band,
somebody's gonna be the one to reach through the camera right into your heart. That
would be "the heart throb," whos abs are as hard as his voice is soft: Evan Farmer. Be
sure to watch out for the next dude--the one with the way intense eyes. His real name is
Alex Solowitz, but in 2gether, he's "the rebel." And last but not least is the pinup waiting
to happen, "the cutie." How cute is this cutie? Well, Michael Cuccione is sooo cute that
his his name in the parody is "QT."
But as with any band, it's ultimately up to the fans to decide which cuties will be kings.
So give 2gether a gander, and see what you think!
