MTV-manufactured boy band parody 2Ge+her may become more than just a
laughing stock soon as the group will commence the recording of its sophomore
effort in -- where else -- boy band hotbed Orlando, Fl. this week.
The album follows up 2Ge+her, the soundtrack to MTV's hilarious boy-band film
parody of the same name. The difference between the two? "I think there's a
few more slower songs and I'm gonna sing!" says Kevin Farley, who plays the
"older brother" figure, Doug Linus. "I didn't sing too much on the first one but
I'm gonna stick my nose in there and give it a shot. Why not? What's the worst
these kids can do? Laugh at me? Tell me I'm bad?"
On board behind the consoles for the second time around include producers Viet
Renn (*NSync, Backstreet Boys) and K.N.S. Productions as well as newcomers to
the project Tony Battaglia (Mandy Moore) and Hear Productions. The
as-yet-untitled record will be released by TVT Records in late summer to coincide
with the 2Ge+her TV series, which begins filming in June and airing on MTV in
August (allstar, March 22).
"It'll be off the air in September!" jokes Farley.
