Let's Get 2gether Yeah Yeah Yeah!

From the moment you laid eyes on the hotter-than-hot guys in 2gether, you just knew you had to find out all you could about them. You know you can depend on SupperTeen! We had the chance to chat with Noah Bastian (Chad), Alex Solowitz (Mickey), Evan Farmer (Jerry), Michael Cuccione (QT) and Kevin Farley (Doug) and they spilled it all! Check it out!
Superteen: So tell us how you go into show business.
Noah: When I was 5, I was asked to be in a play. My mom really wanted me to do it and I thought it sounded like fun. I remember this, it was crazy... I did The Littlest Angel, it was a Christmas play, and I played the littlest angel. I really liked the attention. I'm a total attention-getter (laughs). So I stuck with acting for awhile. In 10th grade, I was scouted through a talent agency. I stopped theater and got a commercial. I did some acting jobs where I lived in Utah, then I did a movie for the Disney Channel, Johnny Tsunami. There I met a girl who told me I should come down and meet her manager, so I did, and I got 2gether!
Alex: When I was 18, I started playing guitar on the Venice, CA boardwalk for a while, and I met an acting coach who used to watch me play on weekends. She asked me if I ever thought of acting and I said no, but she said she had an acting class and she gave me a scholarship. Then I got an agent and the rest is history, but my first acting job was on Saved by the Bell.
Evan: In 1997, a Russian boy band was replacing a member, and they wanted to bring the band over to America. I went over to meet the band and ended up touring with them for a couple of weeks! But I decided it wasn't my gig. When I got back from Russia, I came to MTV. They had asked me to come in to talk about hosting something on the network, even though they didn't have a project specifically at the time. They put me on tape and I kept in touch with the talent department, two years prior to 2gether. So I went on my way and did different things. I even had a recurring role as Steven on Guiding Light. Then I appeared on Broadway in The Fantisticks for eight months. And when I found out I got the part on 2gether, I was filming a role as Christian Bale's friend in Shaft. My character's name is Chad, but I'm only in the beginning scenes, so don't blink!
Michael: When I was eight, I got into acting, like commercials and light stuff like that. I did a couple TV pilots, but 2gether is the biggest acting job I've had. Since I was two, I've always loved to sing and perform, but when I was nine, I started writing music. I released a CD when I was 11, it was called Make A Difference and it was to raise money for cancer research. I worked on it during my battle with Hodgkin's disease and I released it after I was cured. I really feel that the part of QT (who also had an illness) was written for me.
Kevin: I was doing comedy at night in Madison, WI, with my brothers, Chris (Farley, the late Saturday Night Live and movie star) and John. We'd do sketch comedy and I started studying it at the Arc Theater in Madison. I got really interested in it, so I decided to leave the family business and go to Chicago to get involved in the Second City Troope. I eventually won a job in their touring company and we went all around the country performing sketch comedy and improvisation. From there, I got a job on Head over Heels, a short-lived UPN comedy. After a series of sitcoms, The Tom Arnold Show and Third Rock from the Sun, I proceeded to audition. The people behind 2gether liked my audition and hired me.
Superteen: What has this intense fan reaction been like for you?
Noah: It's kind of surreal right now. It's fun though. I try to have as much fun as possible, but it's definitely weird...Once I was at the mall and some girl screamed, 'It's Chad! It's Chad!' It didn't even register. I was like, 'What is she talking about?' Then I was like, 'Oh duh!'
Alex: There've been so many different reactions. Some people write in and say, 'I love you.' and all that. Once I was at a Pink concert and people were having me sign their Pink CDs- it was crazy. I was just going there to see the show and I got mobbed, so they had security bring me around back and I got meet Pink. It was killer! I was just signing autographs. That was pretty weird, I thought. And some girl gave me her necklace. She just ripped it off her neck and said, 'This means a lot to me and I want you to have it.'
Evan: It's funny because they first time we were on TRL, nobody knew who we were. We just had a video out, the movie was still set to air and we hadn't done anything. Now Time Square is definitely not the place for me to be walking around at 3:00! I've also had one fan who scared me to death. I had a girl faint on the subway. Maybe she was surprised that I was on the subway. I didn't know what to do about that one. Luckily her brother was there and caught her just as she was going down. I was like, 'Oh wow.'
Michael: I've been overflooded with letters [from cancer patients]. It's been fantastic. I also found some letters sent to me with dried-up roses from a family member's coffin. It's kinda creepy, but it's flattering because I know they mean well.
Kevin: It's nice and it's funny. I was coming out a of a restaurant and I hear this blood-curdling scream. I turn around, I'm like, 'What happened?!' I thought somebody got hit by a car! These girls were looking at me, and I'm going, 'Why are you screaming?" She's like 13 and she's just screaming, '2gether!!' It's crazy to watch. We're nothing like the Backstreet Boys, but we get a glimpse of it here and there.
Superteen: On the show, the characters have labels--Chad's the shy one, etc. In real life, what labels do you give each other?
Noah: I would still give Alex the bad boy label. In real life, he is-he's Mr. Rebel. I'm not shy at all, I'm the outgoing one. Kevin would be the funny one. He's constantly making everybody laugh 24-7. Evan would be Jerry-he is Jerry. Michael is QT. QT and Jerry aren't really like characters, they seem to be realistic, which Chad and Doug are over the top. The characters are like, whoa, they're out there!
Alex: To them, I'm definitely the rebel. The only one who is different from his character is Noah because Noah is definitely not shy at all. Noah is really cool and a lot of fun. He's the only one who's not like his character of everybody.
Evan: My character is the leader-he's a little more intense, a little more work-oriented and focused. I have an intesne, insane work ethic that my parents drove into me and I didn't realize it until I started acting. Kevin is very similar to his character, the older brother type. He and Noah are like their characters in that they act like brothers offscreen and on. They're always beating each other's shoulders or making fun of each other in a brotherly way. That started day one- it was very strange. Michael plays the dewy-eyed youngster. He's an amazing kid. He's got that charisma- he plays it without even playing it.
Michael: Kevin is no doubt the big brother. He's like a big kid, but when it comes down to being there for us, he switches into adult mode and becomes the big brother. Evan is identical to Jerry. We don't have a shy one.
Kevin: Let's see...Noah's not shy. He's a roadrunner, he's always going a mile a minute. Evan is definitely like Jerry, the heartthrob. Alex is definitely the bad boy. He could scare somebody good. I think he and I fit our characters pretty well. And Michael is QT.
Superteen: So have there been any crazy bloopers on set? Is there a practical joker among you?
Alex: There's a scene where Bob Buss is throwing dolls at us while we were learning how to dance. We were in a hotel and he hit a chadelier and it broke and glass fell on Michael's head. It was crazy! Then Michael got Nigel a baseball cap with a piece of glass sticking in it. It was funny.
Michael: There are lots of stories. Kevin is a total practical jokester. When you call him, he'll make different voices. For instance, my mom called him once to talk to him and he had this different voice saying, 'Kevin is in the hospital. I'm the neighbor. He had a nervous breakdown.' My mom was like, 'Oh my! Is there any way I can get ahold of him?' She was so worried, and he just started laughing on the other end and was like, 'I got you!' He does that quite a bit.
