Teen Beat: Why don't you guys tell us a little about
yourselves?
Kevin Farley: I was born on June 8, 1965 in Madison,
Wisconsin. That is where I grew up. I went to Edgewood grade
school and highschool where I was captain of the football
team.
Teen Beat: Did you have a nickname?
Kevin Farley: Farls. Short for Farley. What else did I do in
highschool? I ran track. I lettered in all sports. I was very
athletic.
Teen Beat: Do you miss Wisconsin?
Kevin Farley: Parts of it I do. It was very low key. The pace
was much slower and in that sense it was a peaceful life. But I
got antsy. I was doing comedy at night with my brothers Chris
and John. We'd do sketch comedy. I started studying sketch
comedy at the Arc Theater in Madison and that was improv.
I'd do that at night after I got done with my job, and I got
really interested in it. So, I decided to leave the family
business and go to Chicago to get involved with the Second
City Troupe. I went to Second City and enrolled in their
classes and began studying improv more and more. And on the
board of trade during the day. I was a runner. It was a pretty
brutal job. Then I would wash dishes at Second City and also
take the classes. I eventually won a job there on their touring
company and we would go all around the country performing
sketch comedy and improvisation. I did that for a couple of
years and from there I got a job on a sitcom, I went out for
pilot season in the beginning of '96 and i got a job on Head
Over Heels, a short-live UPN comedy.
