Common Abbreviations
There are many abbreviations used in regard to fish that many people have
trouble understanding. Here is a small list related only to fish.
LFS- Local Fish Store
LPS- Local Pet Store
PSS- Pet Super Store
BBS- Baby Brine Shrimp
TSTB- Too Stupid Too Breed
TSTL- Too Stupid To Live (Means the same as TSTB)
ST- Single Tail
DT- Double Tail
CT- Crown Tail
ct- Comb Tail
SR- Single Ray extensions in reference to CrownTails
DR- Double Ray extensions in reference to CrownTails
DDR- Double Double Ray extensions in reference to CrownTails
HM- Half Moon Tail, exhibits 180° straight caudal spread.
Delta- Delta Tail
BF- Butterfly Pattern
Veil- Veil Tail
Pheno- Refers to a fish exhibiting certain traits
Geno- Refers to a fish carrying the genes for certain traits
Belly Slider- Refers to a fry that has swim bladder, they tend to stay at the bottom and scoot around on their belly.
