Zealot Rush Strategy In this strategy, speed is obviously the key. As soon as you start out, place all 4 drones on minerals and immediately begin training another drone. Place this drone on minerals. As soon as you have 50 minerals, begin training another drone. This drone will be the only builder drone throughout the rest of the game. Have it begin construction on a pylon. One of the most important things to remember is to ALWAYS have a drone in training. Drones will need to continue to be trained and placed on minerals in order to have the resources to successfully implement this strategy. As soon as the first pylon is done, build these buildings in this order (including the first pylon) as the money rolls in:
The above build pattern is probably THE best way to build gateways in ANY game, so I suggest that you use it. Remember, since this is a zealot "RUSH", you'll want to begin training zealots as soon as possible. So, a good rule to remember is "Always have every gateway training a zealot...ALWAYS!" So, this means as soon as the first gateway is finished, train a zealot. If you do not have enough money, always build zealots first before building gateways. With your first few zealots, I suggest that you explore with them and attempt to locate the enemy base. Then, as the other zealots are finished training, you can send them to help destroy the enemy base. Continue to train zealots (without forgetting to build enough pylons) and send them to kill the enemy. If you are going against more than one person, send in just enough zealots to kill the first base, then send everything else to the other base to stop it's growth and defense. Using this strategy, you'll be able to send a continuous flow of zealots to the enemy (hopefully) overwhelming the poor, defenseless suckers. I was able to have 4 gateways built with several zealots already attacking in roughly 3.5 minutes. The only thing faster and more effective than this is a zergling rush, but this strategy can still be effective against early- to mid-game enemies. [Download a Replay of this Strategy] T-Diggity |
