Sorry it took me so long to write this, I was on Vacation in the
middle of nowhere last week and then I had school work. Well in this issue is all about games,
read it you'll never be bored again (well not really) I am warning you though the two
multiplayer games are highly addictive.
---------
1) Multiplayer Online Games
WARNING: GAMES IN THE SECTION HAVE BEEN FOUND TO BE EXTREMLY ADDICTIVE BUT
YOU SHOULD GO OUTSIDE ONCE AND A WHILE INSTEAD OF PLAYING THEM ALL DAY, IF YOU
CAN'T HANDLE HAVING SO MUCH FUN WITH A FREE GAME I SUGGEST YOU RUN!
+++++++++++++++++++
Game 1: Wulfram 2
Description: A Multiplayer Team based game were you control space age tanks.
The tanks come equipped with machine guns and you can get a array of missles, mines,
laser gun (called a Maser), and these floating mines that track people. The point
of the game is to destroy the opposite team completely. As long as the team has a Repair
Pad they can reenter the game after they've died after 15 seconds of waiting or so.
It's free but requires registration before you play. Some find the controls hard
to learn but everyone should print out a copy of how to advance levels
http://www.wulfram.com/auto_level.php because they include
how to do basic things such as talking and moving. But you should know that the w,a,s,d
keys move your tank. And pressing F1 will tell you all the controls.
Pros: Free, Fun, Good teamwork required
Cons: Not the best graphics, Makes my system freeze when it starts every so often,
especially when my computer has been on awhile, But overall really fun
Content Rating: It has no rating but would probably be rated T for Teen because you
have machine guns and missles shooting at other tanks.

+++++++++++++++++++++
Game 2: Runscape
Description: An MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) You're basically
a knight trying to be a better fighter and make better armor. But you can also improve
your fishing, cooking, crafting, mining, and smithing (making of armor and weapons).
You are supposed to finish some 15 or so quests in the free version. This game is
one of the most addicting of all times although it looks plain and boring.
For help of quests and everything else go to
http://www.tip.it/runescape/
Pros: Addicting, Fun, great for playing with friends online
Cons: Bad graphics, can get boring sometimes, You have to pay to get more quests and a
bigger map, but free version will entertain you for a really long time
Content Rating:The game isn't rated but I'd say 7yr olds and up would be fine
playing this, there are knights and such killing each other but the fight graphics
are bad so it's not too graphic with the fight animation only two frames (basically
a hand or weapon whack the character then pulling it up for anouther blow)
I'd preveiw this game before letting little kids play it (they may run around whacking
each other)

+++++++++++++++++++++++
Game 3: Inklink
Description: This is one of my favorites. It's basically Online Pictionary®. There are many
other similar programs but Inklink is one of the best (I knew of a better one but misplaced
the url) It's an online game but it best fits in this section. You'll need shockwave to
play it, it should pop-up for downloading if you don't have it at www.shockwave.com
otherwise www.macromedia.com should have it for download.
Pros: Fun
Cons: The same word appears again if you play it long enough but I think it's random from
a list, also drawing with your mouse is hard
Rating: Great for everyone, but some sick minded people will draw bad stuff or swear
but you can boot a person if 3 people give them a "boot" (If I remember correctly)
Get it at

avalible at

3)Game Demos
There are many places to get game demos and I am just skimming the surface of places to
download them from. First off all those who are planning on downloading demos with
a high speed connection should get a download accelerator (see section 5) it'll
speed up your download speed.
Game demos are basically free "trials" of the game. Some demos have only so many levels,
others may have a time limit on how much you can play the demo. Some demos are
rather large files so if you are on dial-up my personal suggestion is to have it
download while you are out of the house or sleeping and have the computer automatically
dissconnect when it's done (just have it so it dissconnects when it's inactive for like
5 minutes) Note: Many of these game sites don't put the ratings for the demos or
the demos don't have a rating. To check the rating (if it's rated) go to
http://www.esrb.org/
(Note the Esrb site seems to have trouble when viewed in Mozilla and it won't work in
Opera)
Places to Get Game Demos:
-Sometimes the best place to get demos is from the website of the company that
made the game. Use that if you already know which demo you want.
http://www.gamedemo.com/dirdb/XcDirectory/gddhome.asp
-Some good demos including the top 50 ones downloaded off of Gigex
(Warning: GameDemos.com may have an ad for something from Gator.com, don't
download it because it is spyware)
http://www.megagames.com/news/html/demos/demos.shtml
-Has a fairly large collection of Game Demos.
http://www.happypuppy.com/
-Many games But requires registration. Free membership doesn't get you
into the fast servers but the speed is fair for the free one
(I haven't tried the paid).
-----------------
Some Great Demos I've tried:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=8f4b25fb-05c6-4381-a887-b835e96212bd&DisplayLang=en
-For some reason I liked this dirt bike game, I liked the original demo better than the sequal demo too.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2f2e25b2-34ae-4f29-95fe-f96e81eac315&DisplayLang=en
-This game demo was so fun I bought the whole game, You are a car crashing into other cars
in Chicago and you can drive through malls etc. I did not like the Midtown Madness 2 demo,
to me this one was much better.
http://www.microsoft.com/games/PC/freelancer.asp
-This game demo takes place in space. At first there si too many cut scenes but
eventually you can get to the space combat. Rated "T" for Teen. The game needs
600mhz but it worked fine on my 350mhz if I restarted the computer before playing
with only a few slowdowns. Really Fun.
http://www.tuxracer.com/index.php?page=downloads.php
-A demo where you can race as either a penguin or a seal in 3 different levels.
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
http://www.uselesscreations.com/pigs/
||-Not just a normal screen saver...press space bar and you can shoot down
||the flying pigs...it's really fun. This demo is a 14 day demo and only $5 to
||buy it. A MUST TRY!

4)Have more fun with your existing games
--Here's a tip. If you already have games you can usually add a new twist on them by downloading
things called "mods" (short for modifications) You also can download new characters to play with for
some games, these are generally called "skins" And you can sometimes download new "levels" or "maps".
Search using a search engine such as Google and put the thing you are looking for along with the game
name. Example: Jedi Outcast Mods
5)Download Accelerators
-If you have a broadband connection and you plan on downloading some fun games I highly suggest
getting a downlaod accelerator. It works by basically taking the large file, breaking it into
chunks, and downloading all the chunks at once. This only works when the website you are
donwloading from is slower than your connection can go. This is usually the case on popular sites
because there is many people downloading things.
My personal preference for a download accelerator is FreshDownload. It is free, has no spyware,
and no ad banners. It can intergrate automatically into Mozilla, Internet Explorer, Oepra, and
Netscape and comes up automatically when you click on a downlaod link. If you are downlaoding
zip files and you find that they always won't unzip and cause errors then you can disable
you're download accelerator from downloading zip files and then the normal browser
download will work, change these in the settings.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6) Unzipping zip files
--If you encounter a .zip file and ifnd that no program will open it that emans you need an
unzipping program. Zipping is a process which makes the file smaller for downloading, an
unzipper uncompresses the file so you can run it. Any unzipping program will work
but my preference is CamUnzip.
