Pre-Match Food

Do you know somewhere good to go for food and drink? email me foodanddrink@spursinfo.cjb.net

Cockerel Bar - 759 High Road

One pub that is a must for Spurs fans is the Cockerel Bar located on the High Road.  On match days it is filled with an atmosphere of expectation of the forthcoming game.  The Cockerel Bar is a free house with lots of famous brand beers e.g Stella Artois, which is £2.20 a pint, and a nice friendly service to go with a nice bunch of people.  Just try it you will be amazed at the guy that sets the chants off by standing on the pool table, leading the chorus of the multitude.  To sum up, its a great place, great beer and a great place to be for a matchday Spurs fan.

Haringey Irish Centre - Pretoria Road, Near White Hart Lane Train Station

The drink is cheap and the atmosphere is excellent as Tottenham fans show they can enjoy the craic before and after matches. The Guinness - as you would expect - is top quality and the better lagers don't cost a fortune. There is a decent selection of bottled beer to chose from and drivers have a wider choice of soft drinks, including the refreshing Lucozade, than usual.

The Irish Centre has two bars and lays on food which although it is the standard pasty, sausage, beans and chips - is both tasty and inexpensive. There's a pool table and big screens show Sky Sports all day long. When Spurs are at home on a Sunday it is worth popping in afterwards to listen to the Irish folk bands, who sometimes comes across as a Gaelic version of Chas 'n' Dave.

The Bank - High Road, corner of White Hart Lane

A cracking pub full of real die-hards. Best to get there early because it's standing room only - and that's just on the pavement outside.   Good beer, big screen with Sky Sports on it and just a couple of minutes walk from the ground. What more could you want?

Corner Pin - Park Lane

Closest pub to the ground and traditionally home for the real hardcore Spurs supporters.  Worth a visit for the sensational adrenaline-charged atmosphere - and a look at all the nostalgia dripping off the walls in the form of posters and pictures for those glory, glory days of yesteryear.
The picture of the baby in the Spurs shirt punching the baby in the Gooner gear is also a delight.

P & M Chinese chippie - Next to White Hart Lane train station

Ideally situated for that last minute decision to soak up a bellyful of beer before the long train journey home.  There's a wide variety of "scran" on offer but cod and chips at £2.70 is the recommendation.   Helpings are plentiful and there's enough in the paper to keep you munching for the majority of the train journey back to Victoria.  The chips were first class and although the batter on the cod could have been a little crisper that is a minor gripe.

Neptune Fish Bar and takeaway - High Road

The nearest chippie to White Hart Lane and extremely popular with fans. Never actually been in there because the queues are always out of the door and stretching way down the pavement.  That amount of people can't be wrong so it has to be recommended.

Anuraag Indian Restaurant - The Tottenham Hotspur
High Road Tottenham

One of the best curry houses in the country - definitely worth a place in anyone's top five. Not only is there a cracking atmosphere on match days but the food is simply out of this world. All the usual stuff is on the menu but the chicken jalfrezi is a recommended delight.

The Kingfisher beer goes down well and the only drawback is that unless you book in advance there is every chance you will face a long wait - if you can squeeze in at all. Customers often have to share tables but that can only add to the sense of pre-match fun - as long as you don't end up sitting with the occasional party of away fans that strays in.

The Hotspur Cafe - Next to the Cockerel Bar - 759 High Road

The Hotspur Cafe is recommended by Spurs fans   for a good hearty breakfast before the match, the food is good and plentiful with a friendly smile as well.  The cafe is full of Spurs supporters and there is a good pre match atmosphere to go with your bacon and eggs.
