:: about me :: for the love of god why Eveline is a girl. She draws. Oh. You want more? Weeeellll, let's see. My distinguishing characteristics...hmmm...well, I'm Asian, as you can see in the photos below. I'm also really short. Like, about five feet tall, when I'm not wearing my shoes. It's actually kind of funny. To other people, at least, I mean, I don't really get that much of a kick out of it, but many other people seem to get a laugh a minute out of making all sorts of lame short jokes at me ("HEY EVELINE! YOU SO SHORT, YOU HAVE TO REACH UP TO TIE YOUR SHOES! HAHAHA!"). Not that I'm bitter or anything, no. I'm going to be a college freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania (somehow, the "Fighting Quakers" just doesn't sound right to me...). I will probably be majoring in the biomedical sciences, much to the dismay of many of my friends. When I'm not drawing, I'm reading, and when I'm not reading, I'm probably eating (or possibly drinking, or possibly both at once, now THERE'S a challenge for ya). Somehow I also manage to fit sleep and a little Stupid Box Time (that is, TV) into my rather taxing and hectic schedule. My favorite TV shows currently include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Alias, Powerpuff Girls, Whose Line Is It Anyway, and Smallville (Tom Welling is SOOOO HOT *fangirl scream*). Much like many other Stereotypical Asians, I also play the piano, but my distinguishing talent is that I play it badly. I am also an ikkyu in Shorin-Ryu Karate, that is, I'm almost a blackbelt, which means that I can almost kick your ass. Haha, just joking. I fear pain. Anyway, no, I cannot kill you with a single touch, although I admit that would be a pretty damn cool skill to have. I dig guys (YAAAAY), good books, Orlando Bloom (if only, if only), Lenore, shrimp ramen, sunny days, cool nights, good music, pirates, monkeys, sleep, shinies, sleep, vanilla ice cream, even more sleep, mountains, valleys, rivers, oceans, the view from my room, fireworks, other flammables, root beer floats, warm toes, Jones Soda, cartoons and comics. I do not dig guys (BOOOO), books that smell like ass, creepy crawlies, the Art Slump Demon, liars, posers, and sheeple, popup ads, being poked, being tickled, doo wop, hip hop, bubblegum pop, my scanner, doors, and Canadian geese. Finally, I learned to draw primarily by picking up a pencil and spending an inordinate amount of time online staring at other people's artwork and taking advice from other artist friends (mainly Danielle William's). I've only taken one year of high school art and first year ceramics. My art style is what I like to refer to as "scratchy mediocrity." No, I do not plan to be a professional artist when I grow up, this is strictly a free-time sort of thing, period. Artistic Influences (in no particular order): Bruce Timm ("New Adventures of Batman"), the dude who did the art for The Curse of Monkey Island, the art from "Prince of Egypt," Nick Park's animation, Tim Burton, Roman Dirge, most of the artists for the Sandman series, Dylan Meconis, Vanessa Adams, Stephanie Lostimolo, Danielle Williams ![]() miscellaneous info
