A typical dwelling that this project proposes to replaceSanta Rosa de Copán, being a regional center, attracts a disproportionate share of families living below the poverty line. The Rotary Club of Santa Rosa proposes to improve their standard of living and public health in general in their neighborhoods by constructing 50 homes for low income families. To control costs while providing adequate and long lasting shelter, the homes will be constructed of cinder block and provided with metal roofs. To encourage a sense of ownership, beneficiaries will be required to provide all unskilled labor.
