Vision For The Harvest

...Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields! For they are already white for harvest.

John 4:35

In 1996, God gave us a vision to build a strong local church that will be a revival carrier to the city of Penang. The vision began to unfold on the 1st of Jan 1997 when Harvest Christian Centre, made up of 14 youths, gathered in an obscure place in the middle of the city.

The church started to meet in a rented pre-war house at 68 Lorong Selamat. The church grew and the house could no longer accommodate the people. We met at a conference hall in Agora Hotel for the next year. Finally, God led us to the premises that we are currently meeting in. We initially occupied the third floor but soon found that we needed more space as the children church grew. We then rented the second floor of the same building making it into our sanctuary and the third floor, our church office and children church.

Most of us are working adults: young at heart and in looks! We are basically a bunch of very interesting and fun people. Like any other person, we are continually pressured by many things in this world. However, many of us have learnt and are still learning to cope and overcome our circumstances with God's help. We may be young but that does not stop us from growing in Him. We pray that as we pledge our hearts and lives anew to Him, He is going to grant us favour in whatever we do this year!
