Jacqueline
has been in training as an artist for most of her 76 years. Starting
as a very young girl of 9 at the Dayton Art Institute, in Ohio. At
the age of 20, having departed Ohio for Los Angeles, she enrolled,
evenings at Choinard Art Institute and studied with several instructors
and professional artist classmates. She basically has never stopped
learning or experimenting; attending workshops and studying with noted
and famed artists.
Upon
arriving in Santa Paula with her family in 1966, she joined the newly
forming Santa Paula Society of the Arts as one of several founding
members. Later she joined Buena Ventura Art Assn. and became a Founding
member of the California Gold Coast Watercolor Society in Ventura.
For
more than fifteen years she has been creating "One of a Kind" greeting
cards, uniquely rendered in a variety of mediums, bright colors and
eclectic in subject matter. These may be purchased at the BAA Gallery
on Santa Clara St. in Ventura, or at the SPSA Gallery in the Depot
in Santa Paula.
She
and her Best friend, husband Walt, have spent portions of the last
45 years traveling the world - it is from these experiences that much
of her work evolved.
Her
quest as an artist has always been to try new techniques, study from
life and learn from her peers. These people she has always considered
to be her best teachers, friends and soul mates!!!
