People Mover

This single track rail system or monorail is a far cry from the network of street cars that connected the city over fifty years earlier. Built in the eighties at considerable expense, the People Mover never really gained popularity amongst people downtown until recently. With the addition of the Greektown Casino, Comerica Park, General Motors and an influx of commercial activity downtown, people are riding the rail from their parked cars to their destination.
